Pearls

Over the weekend, I have made pearl earrings and a bracelet.  I'm not sure how I became such a fan of pearls, as of late, but I'm really loving these pieces!

This is my "Pearl Nugget" bracelet with a hammered, heart shaped clasp.  I really love this bracelet!

This set of earrings I had made with the idea of being able to pair them with my multi-chain pearl necklace (previously posted).  These pearls are two different shades (it's not the just the lighting/picture).
Sterling silver chain and beads are also used to add extra shine!

Last but not least, these Pearl Drop earrings are beautiful too!!
Again, I used two different shades of pearls and you could also pair these with the Multi-chain pearl necklace too!

What is your latest trend that you are loving?

Busy, Busy!

This week I started a new (full-time) job so I won't have as much time to craft and blog but, I will try to do so on the weekends - when mood, inspiration, and time allow!

This weekend I've been working on a few pieces of jewelry - an inspiration bug must have bit me in the middle of my sleep Friday night because right when I woke up Saturday (and Sunday), I was getting into the jewelry supplies while I drank my coffee.

Last week however, I had made a couple pieces - a necklace and a blanket, that I have finally taken pictures of!

I've been making boy blankets lately and felt that I needed to see some girlie colors.  So, I made up this O'so-cute blanket that I'm wishing was super-sized for myself!

I used white chenille with a pink/white polka dot fabric.  I used three different prints of ribbon for the taggies and I'm very happy with how it turned out!

My other piece is a necklace, in which I was inspired by a piece that I saw and REALLY loved but I knew I could make it myself - and tweak it to make it how I really wanted it.

The weather has really cooled off yesterday and today, it has me wearing my favorite hoodie (that I haven't needed to use in months).  It is making me think of cider mills, fall colors, and staying inside - making crafts with hot chocolate (or hot tea)!
What are you looking forward to right now?

Blanket for Shane!

After posting pictures of a Rag-Tag Blanket I made, I was contacted by Shane's Mommy interested in me making another - just like it- for Shane.  She was looking for a blanket that was soft, fun, interactive, and one that he could carry around with him and it wouldn't be too big.  My Rag-Tag Blanket was the ideal fit!

She told me that she loved the one I had posted, especially the baseballs and she gave free will.  So, I went to the store and they luckily had everything still in stock so, I scooped it all up and changed a couple little things because I had found new tags!

Here is what I came up with for baby Shane!

I decided that I would throw in a little something extra for him, since he was my first internet order, and because I'm sure he would love something a little more his size right now.
I made up an 8"x8" Crinkle-Rag-Tag-Toy
This is so soft, crinkles when you bunch it, and has a bunch of taggies for fun chewing times!

I hope that he loves his new blanket and enjoys it for a long time!
Enjoy Shane!!

Invites

A friend was planning her son's first birthday and I wanted to help.  I offered to make the invitations for her since she had colors and 'theme' in mind already and I'm sure she wouldn't have had the easiest time looking for her party supplies at the local party supply store.  I wanted to help save her money, stress, and pull the whole party 'theme' together for her.

She had visioned greens, browns, circles, and squares!  I went home and started making some "rough drafts" for her to view to see how she liked them and if we were on the same page.  Sure enough - great minds think alike!  I knew I had to incorporate a picture of Logan, since he's so handsome, and having a solid, bold line font would be the perfect one to have and it also made the perfect framing for the picture.

She had read somewhere a birthday saying on another invitation and wanted it on hers.  So, I added that with some more details, to finish it off, and make it special and this is what we came up with!

We printed these off as 4"x6" invites and chose to have a matte finish.
This is an invitation that will look great in the scrapbook to view as the years go by!

Diaper Bags (or Tote Bags, Hand Bags, etc.)

This is a RAG BAG that was made to be used as a hand bag.
I fell in love with these fabrics at the store and bought some, not knowing what I would make with them yet.
Once I started getting back into sewing (something I have done since I was about 5 years old), I thought that this fabric would be awesome to use for a rag bag!
I think that rag bags are so cute and I'm a patch/quilt lover anyhow!
What makes a rag bag's name?  All the outside seams are sewn on the outside - then snipped and washed to give it a frayed look.  I then make the inside the of the bag with pockets (or without - depending on size and specifications in the order) and it is all 'finished' nicely without frayed seams.
[This picture was taken before I had snipped and washed the bag so the seams are not as cute as the finish project actually turned out.]
I then make the closure with one large button and a button loop.
For diaper bags, I like to make them with an outside pocket on each of the sides to easily place a bottle or sippy cup.

So, if you like my Baby Rag Tag Blankets then I can also make you a matching diaper bag!

The bag in this picture measures about: 12"w x12"h x4"d.  This is also a nice size for a small diaper bag for those quick trips that you don't need to pack a lot and/or don't want to lug around a huge bag.

I can make these bags any size - it's up to you!

You pick the size, colors and/or theme and I'll make you the coolest gal around!

Blankets

Baby Tag Blankets
This is an 24"x24" blanket made with soft fabrics - doubled stitched in all corners for durability.
Around the edges are 'tags' that all young ones love to hold, suck on, and chew on.
This will surely be a blanket your little one will not want to put down!

I can make these any colors or theme to your specifications.
I can also make them smaller or larger.
Prices will vary depending on fabric and size.

Hematite Stone Cross Necklace

Hematite Stones
Hematite is said to keep inward peace.  Many believe it to aid balance, reason, and clarity.
It is believed to dissolve negativity and transform it into love, making it the perfect stone in building peaceful, loving, kind relationships.
It may enhance memory and intellect, strengthen circulatory systems and blood and kidney disorders.
Many use it to improve quality of sleep, aid the immune system, cure ailments in the hands, enhance physical energies, and help headaches and migraines.

I jumped into making some pieces after I had found some Hematite Beads at a local craft store.  I decided to make some pieces for myself since I have recently dealt with kidney stones, have been stressed the last few months, have always dealt with headaches and migraines, have trouble sleeping, and always looking for ways to get energy and enhance my memory.

This is one piece that I'm very happy with.
This necklace has been made with a custom, handmade chain, with Hematite beads, gray pearls, glass beads, and a cross pendant.

I hope that you enjoy this piece as much as I do!

Black/Silver Multi-Chain Necklace

Multi-Chain Black/Silver Necklace
I made this piece with the idea of incorporating many types of links and sticking with black and silver accents since it would then match almost anything you wear.  Enjoy!
